James T Blakeman (Services) Ltd operates from a 40,000sq ft cooking and cold storage facility in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire. Opened in 2000, it is widely regarded as one of the most efficient in Europe.
The cooking plant services the ready meal and contract cooking markets. It is capable of producing 100,000 standard size sausages every eight hours and can cook deep fried, oven cooked or steamed products.
Jointly, the two Blakeman companies offer clients the opportunity to develop products to their own specification. Prior to production, bespoke recipes can be formulated in the development kitchen where a professional chef is retained to fine tune taste, texture and appearance. The cold storage facility is divided between James T Blakeman & Co Ltd and customer leased space.
