Chloe’s Legacy Ball - Supporting Windmills
Acute bereavement Support for Children & Young People in Staffordshire
Windmills are a charity who offer bereavement support for children and young people in Staffordshire who’s primary aim is ‘To preserve and protect the physical, emotional and mental health of children and young people when someone significant in their life is dying, or has died, by providing bespoke, focused and supportive acute Bereavement care.’
When they reached out to the Blakeman family for some support to enable them to hold a ball, dedicated to the memory of their first ever family, the answer was an overwhelming yes. Amanda Harrison, event organiser, said:
“Blakemans sponsorship funded a table of 12 which enabled some of our Windmills families to attend the event, remember their loved ones and talk to people in a similar situation to them”
The event, which took place on 25th September at Keele Hall, was attended by nearly 300 people. An auction run by Chris Hanson from BBC’s Bargain Hunt, a silent auction, raffle and tombola ensured that the occasion was huge success, raising over £19,000 for the charity. Amanda added;
“We are totally blown away by everyone’s generosity. It really means so much to us and will make such a difference to the families we help.”
